Meet Margot Wolf of Margot Wolf Jewelry.
Why she's rad: After meeting Margot on a trip to Austin, we ended up at her birthday party in her studio one night. This seems to be how Austin works; you go where the day takes you. Her studio was almost too gorgeous to imagine anyone working in and her jewelry is tough but super wearable. She uses lost wax casting to create silver pieces that both Nylon Magazine and locals are talking about. Her work ranges from scultural to organic but our favorite pieces are the kinetic and stitched pieces like this Tousled Ring and these Arrowhead Whipstitched Earrings.
Five words to describe your style... colorful, casual, drapey, edgy, BOOTS!
Favorite DIY gift to give... well jewelry of course.
Tool you can’t live without... my carving knife! It was given to me by a friend when his dad died. His father collected really awesome knives and kept them all super sharp. When he died my friend let me pick one out of the bunch. I chose the Old Timer and I now use it everyday in my creation process.
Always wanted to try... Skydiving
Greatest DIY triumph or tragedy... I just altered the sleeves on this top I bought from Forever 21 and it went from looking kinda tacky to totally chic!
Secret inspiration spot or shop... Uncommon Objects in Austin... It would be hard for any creative person to venture into this place and not leave starry eyed and full of inspiration.
The song you totally rock out to while making.. I've been listening to a ton of Girl Talk lately! His dance mash-ups never get old and help me get pumped to polish a bunch of rings or solder a bunch of earring posts.
Most importantly(!) what is the best fuel for making: ice cream or tacos? TACOS! Austin has the best tacos, morning, noon, and night.
