DIY

a sweet Valentine DIY

What to do with those cloth bags in the January and February boxes? With just a few materials we had around the studio, the For the Makers team turned these plain Jane bags into gifts worthy of your favorite pals. They're the perfect size for a few candies, a friendship bracelet, or an IOU for brunch. We'd love to see how you resuse yours. Make sure to tag it with #forthemakers to share it with us!

To make the bags below create your design in pencil and then follow along with embroidery thread. Add a locket for a touch of Victorian sweetness. Try a heart, stripes, or even a monogram.

To make the peach heart draw your design in glue. We used E-6000 since it's slightly flexible when it dries. Then sprinkle on seed beads and shake to remove the excess. Glitter would be fun too, obviously.

To create the winter white bag use a few iridescent stones (ours came from the November 2012 box) and white paper flowers attached to the drawstring. Very Chanel Couture Spring 2009

Happy making + gifting.
