Time

Clique-shoeclips-1 Pin-it%402x

Gather your tools and materials.

Clique-shoeclips-2 Pin-it%402x

Fold the vinyl trim in half and cut it into two pieces.

Clique-shoeclips-3 Pin-it%402x

Cut 2 inches off of each piece. Try to make the cut very straight.

Clique-shoeclips-4 Pin-it%402x

Cut a piece of thread 12 inches long.

Clique-shoeclips-5 Pin-it%402x

Thread your needle and knot the end.

Clique-shoeclips-6 Pin-it%402x

Take one long strip of vinyl and create a loop. The ends should meet together perfectly. Cut a tiny bit off in a straight line if they do not match up.

Clique-shoeclips-7 Pin-it%402x

Starting from inside the loop, poke your needle through one side of the vinyl trim, a little from the edge. Pull it back through the other side.

Clique-shoeclips-8 Pin-it%402x

We are lashing the two sides together. Create stitches all the way down to hold the loop together.

Clique-shoeclips-9 Pin-it%402x

Leaving your needle and thread to one side find the center point of the loop and create two equal sides.

Clique-shoeclips-10 Pin-it%402x

Center a short piece of vinyl over the stitches and fold around the loop.

Clique-shoeclips-11 Pin-it%402x

Fold up the bottom and position an open shoe clip finding in the center of the bow. Make sure before you sew on the shoe clip finding that the side facing up closes towards you and not into the bow.

Clique-shoeclips-12 Pin-it%402x

Pick up our needle and thread it through the three layers of vinyl into the hole on one side of the shoe clip. You can use the edge of a table if you are having trouble pushing the needle through.

Clique-shoeclips-13 Pin-it%402x

Loop the thread around and only push it through the top two layers. Do this several times to secure the clip in place.

Clique-shoeclips-14 Pin-it%402x

Push the needle underneath to the other side and repeat sewing on the clip, securing the other side.

Clique-shoeclips-15 Pin-it%402x

Tie a secure triple knot and cut off the excess thread.

Clique-shoeclips-16 Pin-it%402x

Repeat the steps to make the matching clip.

I don't have shoes that will work with these so I'm going to clip them onto my Christmas tree! (Unless FTM gives us some alternative projects for these!)

@angie456 - we have a hair clip idea coming for these...stay tuned! Also one would be nice added to the center of a grosgrain ribbon and used as a thin holiday belt!

Hi, one of the clips in my box arrived with only the top part of the clip (so it's just a little piece of silver and doesn't work as a clip). Could you send another one over? Thanks!
