- sewing needle
- silver vinyl trim
- shoe clip findings
- sewing thread
Gather your tools and materials.
Fold the vinyl trim in half and cut it into two pieces.
Cut 2 inches off of each piece. Try to make the cut very straight.
Cut a piece of thread 12 inches long.
Thread your needle and knot the end.
Take one long strip of vinyl and create a loop. The ends should meet together perfectly. Cut a tiny bit off in a straight line if they do not match up.
Starting from inside the loop, poke your needle through one side of the vinyl trim, a little from the edge. Pull it back through the other side.
We are lashing the two sides together. Create stitches all the way down to hold the loop together.
Leaving your needle and thread to one side find the center point of the loop and create two equal sides.
Center a short piece of vinyl over the stitches and fold around the loop.
Fold up the bottom and position an open shoe clip finding in the center of the bow. Make sure before you sew on the shoe clip finding that the side facing up closes towards you and not into the bow.
Pick up our needle and thread it through the three layers of vinyl into the hole on one side of the shoe clip. You can use the edge of a table if you are having trouble pushing the needle through.
Loop the thread around and only push it through the top two layers. Do this several times to secure the clip in place.
Push the needle underneath to the other side and repeat sewing on the clip, securing the other side.
Tie a secure triple knot and cut off the excess thread.
Repeat the steps to make the matching clip.
