Gather your tools and materials.

Camera-strap-tutorial-2 Pin-it%402x

Cut about 18" of thread from the thread bobbin. Thread your needle and knot the end of the thread.

Camera-strap-tutorial-4 Pin-it%402x

With one of the swivel clasps, slide the end of the ribbon through about 1.5". Turn the very edge over twice, making a small roll.

Camera-strap-tutorial-5 Pin-it%402x

Fold about an inch of your ribbon over the swivel lobster clasp, keeping your previous folds in place.

Camera-strap-tutorial-6 Pin-it%402x

Start stitching the ribbon together by pulling your needle and thread from the interior of the folds. This neat trick lets you hide the end of your thread.

Camera-strap-tutorial-9 Pin-it%402x

Whipstitch the exterior of your ribbon a few times to secure it.

Camera-strap-tutorial-10 Pin-it%402x

Once it's secure on the edge start a hemming stitch across the width of your ribbon. You'll want to use stitches on the smaller side since it's not very wide. More stitches means more secure!

Camera-strap-tutorial-12 Pin-it%402x

Once you've stitched your ribbon together whipstitch the opposite side of your ribbon to secure it.

Camera-strap-tutorial-13 Pin-it%402x

Once your whipstitched the second side several times knot your thread and snip the excess.

Camera-strap-tutorial-14 Pin-it%402x

Repeat the process of stitching your ribbon to the swivel lobster clasp on the opposite end.

What are the split rings for? Connecting to the camera?

Hi @hanamik - yes, some cameras don't have a large enough area for the hooks so we've included the split rings to use as attachments if needed!
